Do my roommates also need to install the app?
No — you can add them as shadow members with just a name. Save their email with them, and when (and if) they sign up later, they're invited to join with their history.
Is my data shared with anyone?
We only process the data you give us: groups, expenses, and basic profile from Sign in with Apple. A receipt you scan goes to a third-party AI provider that, under its paid API terms, cannot train on it; a photo you keep on an expense is stored privately and shown only to that group — see the privacy policy for the full list.
Does Zplity work offline?
You can browse your groups, balances, and full history offline — the app reads from a local copy on your device. Logging a new expense or settling up needs a connection, since every change syncs to your group right away.
Can I get my data back if I leave?
Pro subscribers can export any group as CSV. Anyone can delete their account from Settings; deletion removes your personal data immediately, and residual backups roll off within 35 days.
What about multi-currency trips?
Add each expense in the currency you paid in. Zplity converts it to the group's currency at that day's rate, so everyone's balance is in one currency. If your card charged a different amount, type that in instead.
Is there an Android or web app?
Not yet — Zplity is iPhone-first. The web is for marketing and account management only.
